Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School (J-E-T) students participated in the county wide Project Unify- Unified Sports Day. Teachers, Whitney Scott, Michelle Deschenes, Susie O’Neal and Ashley Poole, along with Amy Durham and Natasha East took several students to Strom Thurmond High School for the day. Once there, students met with other students from across to district to participate in the Special Olympics. “The thing I enjoy the most about Project Unify is how it promotes social inclusion. Many of our students would not normally have the chance to play on sports teams with some of the general education students. Watching them play together is truly amazing,” said Whitney Scott.

The students were able to play football, basketball and bocce with all of the students, while being cheered on by their teachers and students.  For more information visit our website, jet.edgefield.k12.sc.us or our Facebook page @ Johnston Edgefield Trenton Middle School.
