Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School (J-E-T) student, Amanda York has been accepted to attend the Arts Odyssey summer program in music at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. York is an eighth grade student who has been a part of the J-E-T band program since the sixth grade. Before York could be accepted, she had to audition, pass an interview process and have some of her teachers complete a recommendation form.

The program will last from June 23rd until June 29th of 2019. She will have the opportunity to work with other students and professionals while gaining a better understanding of other art areas. “The J-E-T family is extremely excited and proud of Amanda. We wish her much success and hope that her opportunities are endless,” said Debbie Courtney, Principal of J-E-T. “I cannot wait for Amanda to experience the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts. She has earned it,” said Angelyn Dorn, band director at J-E-T Middle School.  For more information visit our website, or our Facebook page @ Johnston Edgefield Trenton Middle School.
