J-E-T Middle School Student Wins District Spelling Bee Competition

Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School (J-E-T) student, Joanna Wilhite competed in the Edgefield County School District spelling bee and took home the gold. Wilhite, a sixth grader in Jessica Priest’s English class won her school wide spelling bee earlier this year. “I knew that Joanna could do it! I am extremely proud of her and all of her success,” Priest says.

Wilhite will be recognized at one of
  J-E-T’s academic pep rallies as well as treated to lunch by the administration. “Joanna is a great student who always works hard. She is a great example for all of  the students at J-E-T. She has made us all proud eagles,” Debbie Courtney, principal of J-E-T says.  “I am super happy and I did not expect to win, but I am so glad I did. I would like to thank everyone who believed in me, especially my family,” Joanna says.
