Boys BasketballJ-E-T Middle School’s Boys’ Basketball Team Wins First Tournament of the Season

Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School (J-E-T) Eagle girls’ and boys’ basketball teams traveled to Ninety Six, South Carolina to participate in the Tip Off Tournament at Edgewood Middle School last week. Both teams were victorious; however the boys’ took the gold by winning the entire tournament and receiving the trophy.  “I am extremely excited for the season, our boys are extremely talented and are always working hard,” Head Coach, Edward Nicholson says.

This year, the Eagle boys’ welcomes Richard Coates and Demarkus Smith as new assistant coaches for the basketball team. “Both Coach Coates and Coach Smith work so well with the boys and challenge them to play the best basketball possible,” said Darryl Harris, Assistant Boys coach.

 This year, William Bush Jackson and Eric Caldwell Jr. lead the Eagles as captains of the team. “ William and Eric are both great student athletes. They show the same enthusiasm on the court as they do in the classroom,” said Debbie Courtney, Principal of J-E-T.
