8th Graders Visiting STHS

Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School’s (J-E-T) eighth graders, their teachers and administration visited Strom Thurmond High School (STHS) Friday, January 11, 2019. Students were introduced to Josh Black, Principal and the administration team. Black encouraged students and told them the importance of being involved in the school. “One of the biggest things that stood out to me was when Principal Black said plan your work and work your plan. I feel that if you don’t have a plan, you don’t have a destination," Beth Yonce, eighth grader says.

Students were able to see many extracurricular activities highlighted in a mini pep rally. STHS Show-choir, band and both junior varsity and varsity Cheer squads performed before allowing the high school chaperons to show the students their future home. “I never realized how many activities the high school had, cosmetology, Future Farmers of American (FFA), welding, automotive classes, not to even mention the sports,” Cedric Washington, eighth grade students says.
